Sessions and Courses

1. Freeing up and exploring sensory input
Experience the methods that Matisse and Picasso used to warm up. This workshop is designed to build confidence in observation and working in a 'loose way'. The process we will use is ideal for novices and experienced artists. Develop your observation skills, working memory skills, and improve hand-eye coordination. In this workshop, we will explore external sensory input and hand-eye coordination. Hand-eye coordination is considered carefully in the development of children. It's also vital for older people because perceptual-motor adaptability (physical movements responding to sensory information collected and processed by the brain) declines with advancing age. See study https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fnagi.2014.00259/full In each workshop, we will touch on, considering how the various art forms, from architecture to theatre, can be explored through Art Havening  engaging with a range of artworks using Art Havening to extend our flexibility each workshop will have resources which will be either flipped learning (pre-information) or post-session information. Participants can explore doing an Art Havening project in their own time. And participants can share their work and their experience if they like in the class's Facebook group. What will you need? To be a Havening student or practitioner - or begin studying before the start of this course Book your place Zoom sessions, so you will need a computer, camera, mic Rigid pad or board, paper and pen
